  • Hydration

The skin is usually dry in winter, so care must be taken to moisturize it well, using creams or lotions that contain moisturizing substances, such as: alpha hydroxy acids, sorbitol, glycerin that help moisturize the skin, or some oils that are beneficial to the skin, such as: avocado oil, almond oil, primrose oil, and the consumption of drinking water is one of the best natural moisturizers for the skin and its nutrition.

  • Sun cream

Some believe that sunscreen should be applied only in summer, but in fact it should be applied in winter as well, to protect the skin from the sun and harmful ultraviolet rays, so sunscreen and moisturizer with a protection factor of at least 15 should be applied to all exposed areas of the body in winter as in summer.

  • Exfoliate the skin regularly

Care should be taken to exfoliate the skin to get healthy skin in winter, in order to ensure the removal of dead skin cells that cause dry skin, so that the face, hands and lips should be exfoliated using an exfoliating mask, it helps maintain skin moisture and nutrition, it is worth noting that it should be exfoliated once or twice a week, but care must be taken to be suitable for the skin type.

  • Avoid hot water

Hot water is a common trigger that leads to dry skin, due to the removal of natural oils in the epidermis, so you should avoid bathing or washing hands and face with hot water, use rubber gloves while washing dishes in winter, and take a short shower for 5-10 minutes.

  • Preventive ways to preserve the skin in the winter

To protect the skin in winter, please follow the following methods:

  1. Choosing a soap suitable for the skin, as the use of harsh soap leads to friction and dry skin, so it is advisable to stay away from traditional soap, which often contains aromatic substances and ingredients that cause skin allergies, and replace it with a fragrance-free Cleansing Gel, and it is recommended to use soap in small quantities on winter days.
  2. After washing the face, it is recommended to dry it with soft towels and stay away from coarse towels that cause irritation and damage to the skin.
  3. Replace skin care products when winter arrives, choose cleansing products that are concentrated on creams, and reduce the use of cleansing products because they contain a high percentage of alcohol that dries the skin.
  4. Use oil-free makeup, as well as when buying a foundation, be sure to choose an oil-free liquid cream.
  5. Wearing appropriate clothes, as there are types of fabrics that cause skin sensitivity and dryness, while being careful not to put woolen and coarse clothes directly under the skin, and to start wearing soft cotton clothes first, then wearing a thick woolen jacket.
