The movie "Joker 2" .. Todd Phillips reveals the details |
- American director Todd Phillips revealed the name of the second part of the movie "Joker", which will star Joaquin Phoenix, the hero of the first part of the work.
- Phillips posted, through his account on the "Instagram" website, a photo from the script for the second part, which was co-written by co-author Scott Seaver. The American director also published another photo of Joaquin Phoenix browsing the film's script.
- The second part of "Joker" is called "Joker: Folie à Deux".
- This announcement confirms the reports published a year ago about the intention of the American company "Warner Bros.", which produced the first part of "Joker", to produce a sequel, after the overwhelming success of the first part. Director Todd Phillips said at that time that the idea of releasing a sequel was too self-imposed, since all this success, both in material and collective terms, could not be ignored.
- He added, “I showed the idea to Joaquin Phoenix immediately after the completion of the film, to see if he was interested or not, because his presence would either make a film or destroy the idea in its infancy, and at that time he gave the initial approval.”
- Joker is based on the original story of the clown Arthur Fleck, one of the most popular characters in the DC Comics universe, and takes place in the 1980s, focusing on a failed comedian who goes insane and turns into a psychopathic killer.
- The cast included many famous Hollywood actors, including Joaquin Phoenix, Robert De Niro, Zazie Betz, Marc Maron, Bill Camp, Brian Kalin and others.
- It should be noted that the Joker movie is a work of art rated for adults only, as it contains many scenes of violence.
- The 2019 Joker movie is the fourth DC movie to cross the $1 billion mark, after Aquaman in 2018, which grossed $1.15 billion, The Dark Knight Rises in 2012, which grossed $1.08 billion, and The Dark Knight, which grossed $1.04 billion.
