Cats are considered one of the most acquired pets in homes worldwide, as most people prefer to raise them at home for their cleanliness, speed of training and adaptation to life in homes, without causing any inconvenience, they are also loved by all family members, they also like to play and have fun, and there are many different types of cats, and one of these famous species, Shirazian cats, or also known as the Persian cat.

  • Specifications of Shiraz cats 

There are three types of Shirazi cats, namely: moon-faced, Piki-faced, Himalayan, Shirazi cat or Persian cat originates from Persia (Iran), the average length of a Shirazi cat is about 60 cm, and its weight reaches 4.5 kg, but the average lifespan of a Shirazi cat sometimes reaches fifteen years.

  • The Shape of the Shirazi cat 

The Shirazi cat is characterized by its long, soft fur, which is characterized by its attractive colors that vary between Golden, white, black or orange, and most Shirazi cats have a round face, a very small nose, in addition to short paws, and large eyes that distinguish it from other types of cats, which made it one of the most beautiful cats in the world.

  •  Personality of the Shirazi cat

The Shirazi cat is known as a calm cat, with a gentle temperament, who likes to play and have fun safely with young children and adults alike, and is also able to adapt to other types of animals that may be present in the House; whether they are other cats, or different types of dogs.

  • Diseases that affect the Shirazi cat 

Due to the length and density of the hair characteristic of the Shirazi cat, this requires constant care for him, so that his hair does not pick up small insects or parasites that cause various diseases, as there are many diseases that may affect these cats, such as:

  1. Kidney failure, as the possibility of this disease increases with the age of cats, and its symptoms include: frequent urination.
  2. These cats are prone to weight loss, depression and shortness of breath, as a result of the small size of the nose, which is why it is preferable to expose the cat to good ventilation, avoiding places where odors are unpleasant and irritating.
  3. The possibility of cats contracting eye diseases that affect them as a result of short tear ducts, which is why it is preferable to clean the eyes of cats continuously, to avoid diseases.
  4. Due to the thickness of the heart wall on the left side, the Shirazi cat is prone to heart disease, especially when overweight, aging, sometimes reaching the stage of sudden death.
